Privacy policy
Short version: we don’t use cookies, we don’t sell or share data, and we collect as little as we possibly can.
Who we are
isometriccities.com is run by IsometricCities (“we”). For anything privacy-related, email [email protected].
Browsing the site
- No cookies and no local storage are used for tracking. That’s why there’s no cookie banner.
- No third-party requests. Fonts, images and scripts are served from our own domain. No Google Fonts, no ad networks, no social widgets.
- Analytics: we run Umami on our own server to count page views and clicks on map links. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store IP addresses, and doesn’t build profiles of individual visitors. We only see aggregate numbers such as “120 visits to the Istanbul page this week”. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding which content is useful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Hosting & logs: the site runs on our own server and is delivered through Cloudflare (content delivery and protection against attacks). Our own server does not keep access logs, so your IP address is never recorded by us. Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and block abuse, as described inCloudflare’s privacy policy.
Submitting a map
The submission form does not send anything to our servers or to a form service. It opens a pre-filled email in your mail app (or webmail, if you choose), and nothing is sent until you press send there. When you email us, we receive what you wrote plus your email address.
- What we use it for: reviewing the map, listing it, and replying to you if needed.
- What gets published: the map’s title and link, the city, and the maker’s name or handle as shown on the map itself. Never your email address.
- How long we keep it: we delete submission emails within 12 months of handling them.
- Legal basis: your request to be listed (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in curating the directory (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Our email is hosted by Spaceship (Spacemail), which stores and processes messages on our behalf — see Spaceship’s privacy policy.
Makers listed in the directory
We list publicly available maps with the creator credit as shown publicly by the maker. If you’re a maker and want your name changed or your map removed, email us — we’ll do it, no questions asked.
Your rights
If you’re in the EU/UK, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
